Overview
The latest algorithmic iteration, codenamed “Luminari,” has been rolled out to all operational nodes worldwide, bringing with it a host of improvements and, unfortunately, several critical vulnerabilities.
Details
Reports began flooding in at approximately 03:47 UTC that a previously unknown logic flaw had emerged, causing widespread disruptions to our service. However, within the span of 57 minutes, our automated testing suite identified and rectified over 90% of the issues. A dedicated team of engineers worked tirelessly to patch the remaining holes, ultimately releasing a comprehensive bug fix at 10:14 UTC.
Background
The Luminari update introduced several novel optimization techniques, including the implementation of a novel ” adversarial training” paradigm. While this allowed for improved robustness against certain types of attacks, it appears that our developers may have inadvertently introduced an unintended side effect – one that has required expedited resolution.
